Paula Abdul Totally Screws Up on American Idol

Is Paula Abdul drunk or into the pills? I don't know but she just totally messed up live on American Idol. During a quick review of the performers first song of the night Paula Abdul read off her notes and critiqued both of Jason Castro's songs which should have been impossible since he hadn't sung the second song yet. Sooo.. either Paula Abdul is smoking crack or she can see into the future... or the American Idol performances were taped earlier and we were made to believe that the whole show is live. I don't know but Ryan Seacrest kept emphasizing that American Idol was back "Live". Seems suspicious to me.

I just saw Miley Cyrus perform on American Idol and I find her whole phenomena a bit intriguing. Destiny Hope Cyrus, also known as Miley Cyrus, is best known for starring as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel Series, Hannah Montana.

Miley Cyrus became an overnight sensation after she was cast in Hannah Montana. In December 2007, Miley Cyrus was ranked #17 in the list of Forbes Top twenty earners under 25 with an annual earning of US$3.5 million.

Personally I found myself giggling at the performance. It seemed a little hokey, but at the same time she's very young and I think that contributed to my opinion. At the same time I find myself wondering what she's going to turn into. Is she a young Madonna that will continually redefine herself and deliver ground breaking performances? Or will she fall for one of her backup dancers like Britney and self destruct under the pressure? Perhaps with a celebrity father she'll be better menored to handle the fame. As much as the performance on American Idol didn't win me over I look forward to paying a little attention to Miley Cyrus just so I can remember how she started out when she's 50 and redefining music that hasn't even emerged yet.
