Pop Sensation Britney Spears Recovering from Media Assault

Well, this marks the first time I've posted about The Britney. All through her struggles with Mental Illness rumours, her divorce procedings from "Fed-ex" (I love that knickname by the way) and her legal custody battles I've avoided jumping on the bandwagon and posting some trash about Britney Spears. Personally I'm rooting for her. I think many of us have had some hard partying days - maybe just drinking for the older folks among us but experimenting with drugs is nothing unusual for the younger generations. Sometimes people get in a little over their heads before they realize it and with the media spotlight on you - all those crazy times that we got away with - well, Britney didn't get away with anything. It's an adjustment to celebrity stardom and it's an adjustment to parenthood. Maybe parents have forgotten how clueless they were at first, or maybe the people taking advantage of her celebrity status to gain viewers and sell magazines - aren't even parents at all. Anyways, Brit seems to be getting back on her feet.

Britney Spears is scheduled to guest star on How I Met Your Mother as Abby for the second time on May 12. Her first appearance was in March which seemed to be well received and produced the shows highest ratings thus far. Britney was also granted more time with her two sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline, during visitation. Reports also indicate that Britney is spending more time with family including pregnant sister Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney attended Jamie Lynn's baby shower last Saturday.

This is a great picture of Britney Spears. I hope people give her some space and some support instead of ripping her apart in the name of ratings.

I just saw Miley Cyrus perform on American Idol and I find her whole phenomena a bit intriguing. Destiny Hope Cyrus, also known as Miley Cyrus, is best known for starring as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel Series, Hannah Montana.

Miley Cyrus became an overnight sensation after she was cast in Hannah Montana. In December 2007, Miley Cyrus was ranked #17 in the list of Forbes Top twenty earners under 25 with an annual earning of US$3.5 million.

Personally I found myself giggling at the performance. It seemed a little hokey, but at the same time she's very young and I think that contributed to my opinion. At the same time I find myself wondering what she's going to turn into. Is she a young Madonna that will continually redefine herself and deliver ground breaking performances? Or will she fall for one of her backup dancers like Britney and self destruct under the pressure? Perhaps with a celebrity father she'll be better menored to handle the fame. As much as the performance on American Idol didn't win me over I look forward to paying a little attention to Miley Cyrus just so I can remember how she started out when she's 50 and redefining music that hasn't even emerged yet.
